Skinny wraps or body wraps as they are called became popular in the nineties. They use ingredients ranging from soils and clays, to rosemary, butter, eucalyptus oil, chocolate, sea weeds and more. They offer an easier path to slimming and toning muscles and skin. This is one interesting area that everyone should be interested in asking themselves how do skinny wraps work?

Human body cells store a lot of unwanted or toxic substances accumulated from consuming caffeine, alcohols, junk foods and sugar additives. These substances reduce the capacity of the mitochondria in the cells to produce energy. The result is that fats get stored in cells. The storage of fats in the body cells has been found to cause a lot of discomfort to the body thereby hindering normal functionality.

The therapy aims to remove the toxins from body cells, helping to tighten the skin and the softer tissues. The detoxification helps body cells break down, or oxidise, complex fatty acids more efficiently, getting rid of excess stored calories. The substances remove excess water stored in body cells. This enables those who may be susceptible to obesity to live healthy lives at a relatively cheaper cost.

They are made from different materials. Some may be made of plastics, others of bandages. They are usually worn after a thorough scrub and a shower making sure the targeted area is free of grease. This enables the pores in the skin to breathe. Application on areas that are not thoroughly washed will hinder the material from performing the intended purpose.

The detoxification and extraction of bodily fluids, from wearing them result in sweating and dehydration. This requires the wearer to drink sufficient water, throughout the period of treatment. Using this method also increases the rate of metabolism in body cells, and can lead to an increase in rate of heart beat.

Other users think that they only serve to extract the excess water in the cells. This leads to excessive sweating during the course of the treatment, requiring a very high intake of water. It can also lead to the acceleration of pulse rate. The water extracted they claim, is soon replenished on having a regular diet. In as much as this is just a method that is believed to work, it is worth trying it out because it may just be successful.

Others claim that all they do is remove water content from the body temporarily, which will be replenished in a couple of days of normal dieting. Most however, agree that any benefits gained, if supported by a sensible diet and routine exercises do lead to long time benefits.

The most important factor to consider is always making the practice of exercise a routine as this is the only way to ensure that excess fats are oxidised to ensure that the body can work normally. Most of the time people consume unhealthy food thus causing complications to themselves. Even though there are other medically proven methods to reduce fats, making it a routine to take healthy food is always the best option before asking how do skinny wraps work?
