How A 3 Day Survival Kit Can Be Prepared

Disasters could occur anytime and anywhere. The tragedies could include fires, tsunamis, typhoons, floods, and others. Most of the time, the lives of lots of people are claimed and lots of properties are destroyed by these events. Even if the possibility of some tragedies can be detected by several instruments, people should be prepared at all times.

Information on what should be done by people before, during, and after the calamities are typically disseminated by local and national governments. A 3 day survival kit would be one. Individuals should ensure that their kits contain the following things.

The individual should be buying a bag where he will be putting his necessities. He should see to it that he will be buying a durable bag. In this manner, all of his belongings will be remaining inside the container and will not be falling off from it. He might also have to be buying a water proof one for his things not to be getting wet in case of a heavy rain or flood.

Usually, evacuation centers may not provide clean water. For this matter, they will have to bring their own clean water so that they can quench their thirsts while they stay in the evacuation centers. They should bring one gallon per day per person. They also need to store non perishable food such as noodles or canned goods. For the latter, they also have to bring can openers so that they can eat these goods.

The persons should bring their cellphones with them so that they can communicate with government authorities or other people regarding the situations. They also have to keep extra batteries and chargers so that they could still utilize their cellphones. Aside from that, they also need to have transistor radios so that they will know important announcements or events. They should also have flashlights to illuminate their ways during night time.

They should also have copies of their personal documents. These documents include their birth certificates, identification cards, marriage certificates, insurance policies, passports, and others. These will help the government agencies to identify these people and provide them with whatever help that they may need.

Even if disasters happen, cleanliness should still be observed by them so that illnesses can be avoided, especially during floods and typhoons. Items for hygiene and sanitation should be carried, such as toothbrushes, alcohol, and wet wipes, among others. Extra clothes should also be carried so that dry ones could be changed into if ever heavy rains made them wet.

Medical supplies should also be put in the bags. The supplies could include medications for common illnesses that are experienced by people in evacuation centers such as headaches, stomachaches, and colds. Cotton, band aids, and alcohol are also needed in case wounds, burns, or cuts are caused to them by certain disasters.

He also needs a multi purpose tool for cutting or fixing something. He should have a map with him. He should be planning beforehand on where he will be meeting up with his family members in case they are separated. All other members should be aware of the contact information of essential persons and agencies.
